Memberships

"A family we know does this, and has a loose schedule for each day on the fridge when the kids wake up - as a general guide that helps everyone know what to expect, rather than re-inventing it all each day. They have found that helpful. Good luck!" Barbara

This was posted to my Facebook note on this subject. Thanks, Barbara! I know that Grace does better with a schedule. I'll definitely have a schedule mapped out so she knows what to expect.

So, to continue with the thought about memberships...

Stepping Stones
Maritime Aquarium
Beardsley Zoo
Bronx Zoo
Mashantucket Pequot Museum

These are all the places we have memberships. Most of them have reciprocity with other institutions. Next is to look up those places that would be in a reasonable driving distance and plan a day around a visit.

I'm with you! We also need to check out the Weston/Westport libraries because they have some weekly programs.

We have a jungle gym, slip n slide, side walk chalk, driveway paint, sprinklers, and woods to explore. All good fun.

here's to a great summer!

Sounds Great!
Other thoughts...

Mystic Aquarium is fantastic, slighlty over an hour- exit 91 off I95-nice town, too, by the water, full of "New England Charm"- old ship exhibits in the town, too, etc. Huge Aquarium- Penguins, Beluga whales, etc.

Great weekend trip is taking the Ferry to Block Island ( RI)- also a ferry to LI Hamptons beaches-via port jefferson- ferry out of Brpt

other weekend getaway- Westerly RI ( ocean beaches) is just past Mystic, first town past CT border- lovely place for a weekend. just undr 2 hrs.

Lake Quassy is an amusement park in sounthbury CT, off 84- its our favorite-good for kids 3-12, etc. its smalish and on the water. Some like Lake Compounce water park- not my favorite, but your kids may enjoy it- lots of water slides.

Devils Den is in Weston- great small manageable hiking trails surrounding the reservoir- nice places for picnics.

Camp Hamilton so far has really only involved local beaches, slip n slides, sprinkler balls, parks, lemonade stands, arts and crafts,CT Audobon in Milford, looking into installing a putting green in our backyard (modern day croquette?), which- come to think of it, an idea i stole after playing at at Jim and DJs in AZ!

Oh, and gardening- Mia LOVES helping me garden, waters the flowers, look for worms, ants, spiders ( oye!)
If i had the strength or time, a vegetable garden here would be IDEAL. not that ambitious yet, maybe next year.
have fun! Ill add if i think of more- and yes, We'd love to meet up at Compo!
have a great weekend!
